Fie the faded ink of the thick bound grimoire. Its words and symbols are but hollow theories avowed by petty conjurers and the hearsay of oil-dabbed men draped in robes and silver too afraid of the truth to learn of it. Learn science instead by searching the traveler's records, for it is to be found there. Do not deign the unlearned eye, for so long as the eye is open, it can see. To be clear of pretense and explanation is to accept the world as it is.
And those who would follow the arcane maps and call themselves travelers, beware. The way is winding and shadowy. And those who would fill the empty pages have this to wonder: the pen touched to parchment was held only by hands of those who have lived. No man on earth can tell you what lurks outside those shapeless borders.
