.The Abridged Life of Fourth.

acidapluvia

This is a very old piece, something I made for a final painting assignment in college several years ago now. II don't really hang my art around the house anymore, with the exception of this set. :D It's where nobody sees it but me though, so whatever. lol And beyond here is silly chatter from a backwards imagination!

This is the abridged life of Fourth, the robot who was abandoned by his creator.
In the first scene, he lies dormant in the airtight lab. The ruined and overgrown outside world forgotten around him, he sits quietly in the darkness, his internal clock ticking.

The time between the first and second scene is nearly a century. The experiments his creator preformed in the lab have borne fruit, the "miraculous" life-giving cells once meant to cure disease, rebuild missing limbs, restore youth - they have spread in the ideal conditions of the building. Somehow, I've not yet worked it out [lol], Fourth gets infected by the cells. In the second panel, he is trying to escape what he considers a malady.

In the third panel, he has escaped from the lab, causing the once airtight building to release the life-giving cells. This is the end of his life, broken and strewn about the forest as the tissue rotted away his metal casing.

The damage done is immeasurable, and many alien life forms begin to emerge from the wilderness surrounding the laboratory. Since the cells were built for the human genome, the introduction to animal and plant species creates at first some deformities. Over time the animals began to adapt to the strange cells, and the cells began to specialize. In my strange fantasy world, human, plant, and animal have evolved together from this cliche-lab experiment to create something wild and elusive. Monsters, aliens, creatures of the deep, unexplained evolutionary blips, even as refined as the "fandom" anthropomorphic characters, all spawned from a single cell. :D Because fantasy! Why not.
