Challenge two. I was asked to do a picture of a character that mimics a WWI photo. The commissioner, being a history buff, gave me a photo for style/position and details of the uniform of the time period.

So, since this should be a faded photo, I had to play with the colors to get the effect. The character was done in markers. I then overlay it with watercolor to give a grainy rough look. Final touch, was the date: April 15, 1917.

Hope I captured that feeling when looking at the photo. Historical works are all about the details, which makes them fun!
