OKAY SO!
I am alive! My mouse broke- so I (having learned I'm not good at coping with not having adequate computer access) started working on this project that I'd started that I got really intimidated about->
Remember?
Okay, so the mouse broke on...Saturday (9/2)? and I've done very little else than work on this since...and it's uhm... almost a week later (9/9)? Yes? ::checks calendar because I've literally been that detached from reality::
Yes.
I'm going to tell you right now I have bled on this, like...this is a project of love and when I say love, I mean a deep intimate love that somehow survives lots and lots of crying and fights and curling up into a ball in a corner, but-somehow-they-remember-your-anniversary-love...
I AM OPEN TO ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANYTHING!
THAT IS RIGHT! I will teach anyone what I've learned, what didn't work, what does, everything.
So that's what I've been doing.
I'm still not done yet- I don't know how I'm going to do those legs and paint doesn't stick to Apoxie ™ very well...and I still have to figure out how to attach the mane, tail and scales...
Oh! The good news is I also got a mouse finally. :)
Please ignore my messy desk.
Oh wow! this is looking so gorgeous so far! Was is hard to felt around the armature? how did you felt the face/ears?
THAT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME COMING FROM YOU!
THANK YOU! gosh uhm oh! YES it is hard! I had to glue some uhm.....pipe-cleaners to spots to get the wool to "stick" and sometimes I'd have to glue bits to get it started?
I flocked the face and ears actually! I'm still not sure if it was as successful as I'd like? but I do feel like it helped make the head look more a part of the body :D
that makes a lot of sense, maybe using some sheet felt glued around the hard bits would help? or maybe in the future, squishing some felt around the still curing apoxie would help.
I think flocking the face was a great idea, it really does make it more cohesive :D
I'll tell you my absolutely favorite detail right now is in the bottom picture in the hip/rump area it seems to have a swirl in it, whether intended or not it gives it a stary night vibe and I love it ;_; anyways, can't wait to see more <3
HMM!! Sheet felt! that would have been a better idea than what I'm doing! hahaha- ..in a weird way I feel I'm stuck- since I had to dye wool in one go- and I can't remember the dye- recipe!
Thank you thank you for your encouragement about the flocking! It has given me some stress so having others say that that feel it works well- really relieves my anxiety about it!
hehe THANK YOU! The rump-swirl was an accident! HAHA but in you saying that I am definitely keeping that in there- starry night is one of my favorite paintings!
