Sandy by anthroguy101

Sandy
The fury of the coastal storm
The wind and all the rain
With water filling up the streets
And subways as the drain

The trading floor is empty and
The room is dark and dim
The trading bell is silent and
No people lie within

The buildings by the shoreline are
All shattered into bits
The fire consumed a neighborhood
And brought lives to their pits

The night is filled with darkness as
The houses all went black
And those that filled with water
Washed away years of greenback

And though we saw it coming
We did nothing to prepare
What was a distant warning has
Become our worst nightmare

Sandy

I don't know about "did nothing to prepare." Everyone here did a whole hell of a lot. Not much you can do with what amounted to The Perfect Storm on steroids. Sorry to bring ya down, but that line sticks out to me, personally.

I was meaning to make an argument about energy policy.
