chibi rodimus (avatar)

keirajo

Unless you read the "Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye" comic.........you won't get this. See...the Transformers can generate solid holomatter avatars. Rodimus and his crew use them to sometimes go down to planets where their robot forms can't go (or may be unwelcome, the Galactic Council has BLACKLISTED Cybertronians after all..............).

I think Rodimus' avatar is really adorable. :D So I just felt like drawing a chibi of it. :)

Rodimus belongs to Hasbro/holomatter avatar design created by those guys at the IDW comics.

Would it be like in Bay's live-action movies where they have holographic drivers/pilots?

I think the comic started out like that when it was done by DreamWave (well before Bay's movies, so it's likely Bay lifted it from them), IDW kinda picked up the pieces (and some staff) from DreamWave...so they used the holomatter avatars often on Earth in the earlier comics. Rodimus and his ship crew are cruising the galaxy though...when they use the holomatter avatars, it's usually to interact with things their robot bodies wouldn't be able to do. So in a way...like using ST:TNG's holodeck to talk with alien species and not freak them out? XD

Never though human chibi versions of Transformers was a thing ! XD

    Looks adorable ! :3

The MTMTE comic like breaks all the Transformers rules...like issue #43 where they used the avatars a lot--the world they were on was based on 80's/90's sitcom t.v.! I was rolling with laughter the whole time! XD

It makes sense why they'd have the avatars...not freaking out alien species by being giant robots is probably the most intelligent idea they came up with! ;)

        Oh ? XD

Gonna have to start reading that !

This series is a lot like "dysfunctional Star Trek with Robots"--Rodimus takes a crew of hundreds of volunteers into space on a ship, to look for the missing Knights of Cybertron. So it's like "watching" (reading) a Star Trek episode, but with Transformers. OH...and gay robots, that should seal the deal for you. ;) They actually handle something akin to homosexuality (as the primary population of Cybertron identifies as "male") with a thing called a "conjunx endura" (essentially soul-mate). Chromedome and Rewind are the first conjunx endura mentioned on the ship...but there gets to be a few more couples over time. It's actually really well-handled for such a situation. :)

There's a big buildup on this current something-like-a-triangle............that's gonna break in a few issues (I saw in an issue of "Previews" at the comic shop). Between Cyclonus, Tailgate and Getaway...I think this is going to be soap opera messy..................... @_@

            Transformer Yaoi ... I dig it :v

            XD

Yep! :) It's interesting, in the new issue of "Previews" (came out last week) they're already talking about Christmas. There's going to be a CHRISTMAS-themed "Transformers" issue...I admit curiousity as to how THAT works...! XD But the one sentence summary for the MTMTE comic said this "Sometimes this book is funny, sometimes it breaks your heart." It's a pretty apt description. chuckle

I can't wait to see this get resolved though...it's been going on in the background of issues for awhile now. Cyclonus is this very quiet (but loyal) type, he keeps his feelings bottled up...but you can just tell he's very jealous of how Getaway is pouring all this attention on Tailgate. I think Tailgate doesn't realize what he's doing by letting Getaway's attention get to him, either--he doesn't seem to notice Cyclonus really resents Getaway. Definitely soap opera level stuff.
